Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia

With the approval of the law of reform in December 2015, the Serbian Chambers of Commerce network, a system of public law, has undergone a transformation in a centralized way.

The new legislation provides for a National Chamber and 19 regional Chambers, which together form a single chamber system.
The regional chambers are no longer independent organizations established by law, but organizational structures created by the National Chamber.
All companies are members of the National Chamber, and if a position or activities within one of the regions, also members of the regional chambers through compulsory membership.

With regard of the competences of the newly established National Chamber the new law provides, among other things:

  • lobbying activities on behalf of policy makers;
  • support activities for accession of Serbia to the European Union;
  • promotion of relations with foreign countries, through initiatives that encourage potential business and foreign investment;
  • support for research, innovation and sustainable economy based on knowledge, technology and information society;
  • management of training and education activities; management structures that ensure alternative dispute resolution.
